The Bronze Featherback or Notopterus notopterus (Bengali: ফলি, Thai: ปลาสลาด) is a fish in family Notopteridae found in India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and other regions of Asia. It is the only member of its genus.
This fish appears in a stamp of the Kingdom of Laos.[1]
This fish is popular in Laos and in Thailand as food. It is preserved and prepared in different ways. Nam phrik pla salat pon (น้ำพริกปลาสลาดป่น) is a variety of Nam phrik with minced roasted Pla salat that is eaten along with raw vegetables. It is popular in Khorat.[2]
